Privacy Policy
NOME is a metronome. It works offline, has no accounts, and shows no ads. The one thing it can send anywhere is a message you write yourself, on the feedback form. This policy explains all of it.
The short version
We do not collect, sell, or share any personal information. NOME has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind. It makes exactly one kind of network request: sending the feedback form, when you fill it in and press Send.
Information we collect
Only what you type into the feedback form, and only when you send it. NOME never asks for your name, phone number, location, contacts, or photos. The form has an optional email field, which exists so we can reply; leave it blank and your message reaches us with nothing in it to identify you.
We receive no usage statistics. We cannot tell how often you open the app, what tempo you practise at, or whether you use it at all.
What NOME stores on your device
So the app opens the way you left it, NOME saves your settings and your saved work in its own private storage on your device. That is the whole of it: the state of the app as you left it, and the things you have made in it.
It stores nothing about you personally — no identity or contact details, no location, no photos, no audio — and it keeps no history of your use: no log of when you practise, how long you play, or how often you open the app. What it remembers is the state of the app, not a record of you.
None of it is ever sent anywhere. The feedback form does not read it, and there is no sync, no backup to us, and no account holding a copy. It is removed when you delete the app.
Feedback
NOME has a feedback form under Menu › Feedback. It is the only part of the app that sends anything off your device, and it does so only when you fill it in and press Send. If you never open it, NOME never contacts anyone.
Your message goes with the app version and build, your platform and its version, and — on Android — your device model. That is there so that a report about timing can actually be acted on. If you fill in the optional email field, it is sent too and used only to reply to you. Nothing else is attached: no identifier for you or for your installation, no location, no contacts, and nothing about how you use the app.
Messages are stored in a private database and emailed to us, and are kept until the matter is dealt with. To have one deleted sooner, write to support@happeninlabs.com — though if you sent it without an email address, we will have no way of telling which message was yours.
Microphone
NOME never records audio and never accesses your microphone.
On iOS you may notice that the app declares a microphone usage description. This is required because the audio component NOME uses to produce clicks also contains recording capabilities that NOME does not use. The declaration is a platform formality, not a sign that audio is captured. NOME does not request microphone permission, and if your device ever prompts you for it, you can decline with no loss of functionality.
Network access
Apart from sending the feedback form, NOME makes no network requests. It has no analytics endpoint, no advertising SDK, no remote configuration, and no update channel. Nothing is sent at launch, in the background, or while you play.
If you never use the feedback form, the app behaves identically in airplane mode.
Notifications and background playback
When the metronome is running, NOME shows a playback notification so you can stop it without returning to the app, and keeps the screen awake. On Android this uses a media-playback foreground service. These run only while the metronome is running and involve no data collection.
Children
NOME is safe for users of any age. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.
Third parties
NOME integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only outside services involved are the two that carry a feedback message on our behalf: Supabase, which hosts the database the form submits to, and Resend, which delivers the notification email. Neither receives anything unless you send the form.
The app distributes open-source software components and the Barlow Condensed typeface, which is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. These are bundled code and fonts; none of them transmit data. Attributions are listed in the app under Menu › About.
If you obtained NOME from the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores may collect information about your download under their own privacy policies. We have no access to and no control over that data beyond the aggregate, anonymous sales reporting the stores provide.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA grant rights to access, correct, export, and delete personal data held about you. The only data of that kind we can hold is what you chose to put in a feedback message. To ask for it, write to support@happeninlabs.com from the address you gave us. Everything else NOME keeps stays on your device, and deleting the app removes it.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of NOME changes what it collects or stores, this policy will be updated and the effective date above revised before that version is released. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
